I Thought I Was in the Flow State
Until I Stopped Writing.
When I wrote my first essay for Quiet Magnetism, I was excited to be writing again.
So excited that I began writing daily, determined to launch Quiet Magnetism with at least five essays.

I thought I was in the flow state.
Then, once I finished the fifth essay, I stopped writing.
As a matter of fact, four weeks passed without me writing anything new.
Not because I didn’t want to write. I was focused on launching Quiet Magnetism.
After more than fifteen years as a restaurant server, I practically had a PhD in multitasking. But I refused to turn launching Quiet Magnetism into another source of overwhelm.
I could continue writing or focus on launching, but I wasn’t going to force myself to do both at once.
It’s like my grandmom Jackie would say:
“Everything is a meditation.”
One Saturday morning, as I was preparing to launch, I suddenly felt the urge to go into the spare bedroom and retrieve my old laptop.
I assumed it was broken, which was why I’d been creating Quiet Magnetism on a laptop given to us by the person I wrote about in Magnetism Requires Boundaries.
If you’ve read that essay, you’ll understand why I was reluctant to launch Quiet Magnetism from that laptop.
To be honest, I wasn’t familiar with that brand. I had to share it. And most importantly, it wasn’t MY laptop.
My mind had plenty of reasons to leave my old laptop alone, but my intuition insisted I check it again.
Eventually, I realized it wasn’t broken after all.
It just needed a new charger and possibly a new battery.
It was still functional.
And suddenly, something that had felt like an obstacle was no longer standing in my way.
During those weeks away from writing, something else had been happening.
I was receiving some of the most potent intuitive downloads.
My intuition would tell me to do this, stop doing that, buy this—sometimes guiding me toward things that seemed completely unrelated to launching a blog.
But I followed through.
And each time I acted on one intuitive nudge, another would arrive.
Then another.
And another.
That’s when it clicked.
THIS was the flow state.
Looking back, I could see that the things I’d been guided to do—and stop doing—hadn’t distracted me from launching Quiet Magnetism.
They had actually made the process easier.
This wasn’t my first time launching a blog. I’d previously created a personal style blog, a spiritual awakening blog, and even a food blog.
But this was the first time I was creating something without abandoning myself in the process.
