There Are No Coincidences

How the YouTube algorithm unexpectedly led me back to writing.

It was a Thursday at 1:11pm when I realized that YouTube had completely f*cked my life.

It had been several days since my content had been distributed through the YouTube algorithm, and I couldn’t figure out why. No known violations. No explanation. It felt like another energetic block.

Now, some people would blame this on the current Mercury retrograde pre-shadow period, but I chose not to because of something my grandmom Jaqueline would say:

“There are no coincidences.”

Just to give this conversation context, the content I shared on YouTube was a collection of seven subliminals—what I call The Quiet Magnetism Experience, now included in Presence—that I created for myself earlier this year to help me regulate and expand my nervous system. I had found them to be incredibly helpful so I decided to share them with the world via Youtube.

Little did I know, things were about to take another unexpected turn.

Looking back at my journey, I began to notice a pattern.

I entered foster care at the age of two after being born into an abusive relationship. I grew up in a dysregulating environment, struggled with unstable employment after entering the workforce, and experienced bullying despite having the kind of beauty and health that might suggest an entirely different life.

For as long as I could remember, it felt as though I had been fighting battles I never asked for. And the more I reflected on those experiences, the more I began to understand them through the lens of the Universal Laws.

Ever since my restaurant job closed last year after giving us just two days’ notice—yes you read that right, only two days—I’ve had plenty of time to reflect on the experiences that brought me to this moment.

But let me back up.

A week after the restaurant closed, I applied to another restaurant. Surprisingly, I didn’t get the job. At the time, I couldn’t understand why.

Then, months later, there was a shooting in that area. Suddenly, I found myself feeling relieved that things hadn’t worked out the way I originally wanted.

What once felt like rejection began to look like redirection.

Oh, and did I mention there was also a shooting right next to my previous restaurant?

Another experience that made me look back at an ending differently.

Remember what grandmom Jaqueline said: “There are no coincidences.”

Now, back to why.

Why did I keep finding myself in environments that left me feeling like I was constantly fighting to survive?

That’s when I began reflecting on the Law of Cause and Effect.

Growing up in survival mode hadn’t caused the difficult things that happened to me. But it had shaped what felt familiar, how I responded to certain environments, and what I learned to tolerate.

And suddenly, something clicked.

If I wanted to experience something different, I need to begin changing what was within my control.

For me, that meant learning how to regulate my nervous system.

As I began experiencing more calm and safety within myself, I started to recognize just how transformative that change could be.

Which brings me back to YouTube.

Once I was done giving YouTube both of my middle fingers, I decided to play the Regulate audio, now included in Return to Safety.

As I became calm and present, I realized something I couldn’t see through my frustration.

I was finally writing again.
